Built at a cost of $200 million, Biosphere 2 was once the largest sealed environment ever created. Today, it is abandoned. Other biospheres around the globe have been similarly deserted, and the occasional attempt to repurpose them into everything from indoor amusement parks to exotic hotels have sadly failed.
